Korean Street Food That You Have To Try If You Visit Korea!

Hi guys, I want to share my experience during my visit to Korea. Apart from visiting tourist attractions & shopping places, I also did a culinary tour while there. If you are planning to visit Korea, I have a recommendation for Korean street food that you should try!

 

1.    Tteokbokki

Who doesn't know this Korean street food icon? This is Korean street food that you should try when you visit Korea! Tteokbokki is a Korean dish made from rice flour cooked with spicy and sweet gochujang spices.

2.    Eomuk (Odeng)
It's incomplete if you eat Tteokbokki without Eomuk. Eomuk or Odeng is a Korean fish cake that is famous for its delicious taste. Eomuk is usually served with gravy, either savory or spicy.

 

3.    Kimbab
Kimbap is a Korean food consisting of rice wrapped in seaweed. Kimbap is a very popular food because it is practical & easy to eat anywhere.

 

 

4.    Hotteok
You must often see this snack in Korean dramas. Hotteok is a pancake filled with bean paste, that is a popular snack in winter

5.    Bungeoppang
The last one is Bungeoppang! Bungeoppang is a waffle-like cake in the shape of a goldfish that is popular in Korea. Bungeo-ppang is usually filled with red bean paste or custard cream. This food was also viral among Korean lovers, even now there are many ice cream brands that make variants of Bungeoppang ice cream

 

Those are various Korean street foods that I highly recommend you try if you visit Korea. Actually, you don't have to visit Korea first if you want to try it because currently Korean street food is sold in many countries.

In addition, for those of you who are Muslims, it would be better to ask beforehand whether the snacks are halal or not (for example containing pork, lard or alcohol). But from my experience while there, the sellers are very kind because they tell me first if there is food that contains pork.
