Wonderful Korea : A Predilection, Inspiration, and Motivation

This is my twelfth year as a Korean fan. Since 2010, I love all things about Korea, from K-Pop, K-Drama, K-Food, Korean arts and culture, until recently I like K-Webtoon. Since then I have been interested in participating in Korean-themed events.

In my view, Korea is a very beautiful country, where modern and traditional things go hand in hand. Since then I have aspired to set foot in Korea. Until 2019, precisely in the spring, I had the opportunity to visit South Korea.

In 2019, I joined the Sahabat Korea (Friends of Korea) program by the Embassy of the Republic of Korea for the Republic of Indonesia. Through this program, I got many opportunities to attend Korean events in Jakarta. I had a very memorable experience while being part of Sahabat Korea.

It doesn't stop there. In 2021 I joined a program from the Mission of the Republic of Korea to ASEAN, namely Korea-ASEAN Online Supporters. In this program, we are required to disseminate information about bilateral relations between Korea-Indonesia. This has also been a memorable experience for me, as well as deepening my knowledge of the Korea-Indonesia bilateral relationship.

When I first arrived in Korea, I was really amazed and thought that Korea was like a fairy tale. Everything is so beautiful! Especially because it was spring, we could see various types of flowers blooming there.

Seoul, which is the capital of South Korea, is a dense but charming city. In a modern city where tall buildings are facing each other, modern cafes have sprung up but still retain their traditional aspects. Behind the tall buildings, there are various cultural assets such as the Hanok village or the magnificent and beautiful royal palaces. One of the famous cultural assets is Gyeongbokgung Palace which I have visited.

The next day I visited Jeonju city. I tried Jeonju's famous bibimbap, then tried to make Jeonju's signature choco-pie, and wandered around Jeonju Hanok Village. I spent hours in Jeonju Hanok Village without the slightest feeling of fatigue. This place is beautiful, very very beautiful! If there is a chance, I want to come back to this place.

Until now I have always thought that Korea is the most beautiful place I have ever visited. The more we come here, we can feel the development of Korean culture, especially K-pop, or what we usually call the Hallyu Wave.

During 12 years of being a Korean fan, I've never felt the slightest regret. Sometimes I feel like I get strength from K-Pop and K-Drama, especially when I'm going through hard times. In the future, I hope that more and more people will love Korea in various sectors.
